Sayyida Basma bint Fakri Al Said () is an Omani royal and mental health advocate. Early life and education. Basma was born in the United Kingdom to Sayyid Fakhri bin Mohammed Al Said and Ibtisam Hasan Abdallah. Her father works for the Foreign Ministry of Oman. He was the ambassador to Brunei from 2008 to 2013 and the ambassador to Malaysia from 2013 to 2016. She earner a bachelor's degree from the University of Jordan in 2001 and a master's degree in health counseling from Curtin University in 2008. Career. Basma is a psychologist and clinical hypnotherapist. In 2012, she founded the Whispers of Serenity clinic in Muscat. It is the first specialized mental health clinic in Oman. She previously worked at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital from 2001 to 2012. In 2014, Basma started the 'We Are With You/You Are Not Alone' initiative which offers education and resources as well as encourage discussion of mental health. It collaborates with the Ministry of Health to hold an annual forum dedicated to mental health. In 2023, she was the first Arab judge for the Diana Award. Personal life. She is married to Sayyid Adham bin Turki Al Said and they have four children.
