Tim O'Neill is an American author, public speaker, and natural gas trader. He is known for his books Every Play Every Day: My Life as a Notre Dame Walk-On and Tiny Tim's Notre Dame Football Dream.
Early life and education.
O'Neill was born on September 28, 1979, in Pontiac, Michigan. O'Neill attended Troy Athens High School in Michigan, where he played football as a running back. O'Neill graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BBA degree. He later earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Football career.
During his time at Notre Dame, O'Neill was voted onto the Notre Dame Football Leadership Council as a junior, an uncommon achievement for a walk-on player. In his senior year, he was awarded a scholarship by head coach Tyrone Willingham. That season, O'Neill rushed for 74 yards on nine carries, averaging 8.2 yards per carry. His performance included a 42-yard run, the longest run by a Notre Dame running back during the 2002 season.
Following his college football career, O'Neill participated in the 2009 Japan Bowl, an exhibition game featuring former Notre Dame players and coached by Lou Holtz in Tokyo, Japan. He later documented his experiences as a walk-on in his book Every Play Every Day: My Life as a Notre Dame Walk-On, which provides insight into the challenges and experiences of a walk-on athlete. He also wrote a children's book, Tiny Tim's Notre Dame Football Dream, which introduces young readers to his experiences at Notre Dame.
Professional career.
After completing his education, O'Neill transitioned into the energy sector, where he currently works as a natural gas trader in Houston, Texas.
