Gurban Gurbanov (born 28 January 2002) is an Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler competing in the 82 kg division. He won the gold medal at the 2025 European Wrestling Championships. Career. In September 2017, Gurbanov took first place at World Cadets Championships in Greece. In May 2018, he finished second at European Cadets Wrestling Championships in Skopje. In September 2021, he took silver at the First CIS Games in Kazan. In October 2022, Gurbanov won the Under-23 World Championships held in Pontevedra, Spain. In March 2023, Gurbanov won the European Under-23 Championship in Bucharest, defeating Ukraine's Irfan Mirzoev in the final. In the 2025 European Wrestling Championships held in Bratislava, Slovakia, after bypassing the first round, he reached the final by defeating Armenian Samvel Grigoryan 3-1 in the second round, Islam Aliev competing for the World Wrestling Union 2-1 in the quarterfinals, and Georgian Gela Bolkvadze 4-0 in the semifinals. He won the gold medal by defeating Hungarian Erik Szilvássy 6-0 in the final match.
