Veeris Ammarapala () is a Thai state enterprise executive, serving as the 20th Governor of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT). Early life and education. Veeris holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial engineering from Thammasat University, a MS in Operations research from Columbia University, and a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Rutgers University. Career. Veeris previously served as Governor of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT). In 2024, upon becoming governor of SRT, he stated that his aim is to turn Thailand into a railway service hub for ASEAN. His proposals include double tracking, developing SRT properties to increase revenue, and accelerating the payment of SRT debt. Veeris has committed to finishing the Bangkok–Nong Khai high-speed railway to connect Thailand with Laos during his tenure.
