Heavy Metal is the debut solo album by Geese frontman Cameron Winter. It was released through Partisan Records on December 6, 2024, and was met with positive critical reception.
Recording and production.
According to Winter, he worked with musicians he found on Craigslist, as well as a 5-year old boy who played bass, and recorded parts of "Heavy Metal" at Guitar Center locations in New York City.
The album was co-produced by Winter and Loren Humphrey in Tuxedo Park, New York.
Release and reception.
"Heavy Metal" was released through Partisan Records on December 6, 2024. It received positive reviews from "Pitchfork"," "Paste"," The Line of Best Fit," "The Needle Drop"," "GQ," and UpRoxx. It has been further praised by other musicians, such as Waxahatchee and Nick Cave.
