Early life and education.
Moritz Wanger was born in Germany, and grew up in a musical family, with grandparents who were both musicians at the Mannheim National Theatre. He began studying piano at age five, saxophone at nine, and guitar at thirteen, the latter inspiring his decision to pursue music professionally. As a teenager, he performed in bands that toured across Germany and was nominated for the Deutscher Rock & Pop Preis in 2011.
Wanger initially studied jazz as an early student at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Mannheim but later chose to focus on Popular Music. In 2014, he moved to London, where he completed a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music Performance at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and received the Best Student of the Year award at graduation. He later obtained a Master of Arts in Composing for Film and Television from the National Film and Television School in 2021.
