Siberian State College of Olympic Reserve is a professional sports educational institution located in Omsk, Russia. It specializes in training high-class athletes, coaches, and specialists in the field of physical culture and is one of the leading sports training centers in Siberia. History. The institution was established on June 21, 1990, by Order No. 352 of the State Committee of the RSFSR for Physical Culture and Sports. The goal of its creation was the development of a sports reserve, support for the national teams of Russia, and the training of qualified coaches. The initiative for its creation came from the rector of the Omsk State Institute of Physical Culture (OGIFK), . Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee L.K. Polezhayev and Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports Yu.Yu. Glebov also participated in the organization. The organizational work was headed by the rector of OGIFK, D.V. Maystrishchin, and the first director of the college, V.V. Verner. In 1991, the first enrollment took place – 90 students in 14 sports, including artistic gymnastics, athletics, swimming, judo, sambo, boxing, and others. In the first year of training, 12 students were awarded the title of Master of Sport of the USSR, and in 1992, the pupils won 16 gold medals at the Russian championships. Achievements. Over the years, the college has trained many champions and medalists of the Olympic, Paralympic, and Deaflympic Games.
