Day Hall is a building on the Central Campus of Cornell University that currently houses the administration and registrar. History. 20th century. Day Hall was constructed in 1947. During the 1969 protests the SDS (Students for a Democratic Society) group was planning to capture the Day Hall (an administrative building at the time). In 1993 Cornell's Latino students staged a peaceful protest and sit-in at Day Hall to raise awareness of these students' needs and had ripple effects nationwide, including the expansion of the Latino Studies Program and the creation of the Latino Living Center at Cornell.
