Princess Changde (1424–1470) was a princess of the Ming Dynasty, personal name unknown. She was the third daughter of her father Emperor Xuanzong of the Ming Dynasty and only daughter of her mother Empress Sun and only full sister of the Emperor Yingzong. Early life. In 1424 (the 22nd year of the Yongle reign), Princess Changde was born to the then "Huang Taisun" ('imperial grandson-heir') Zhu Zhanji and his then concubine son probably in bejing and her great-grandfather Yongle Emperor died the same year and her grandfather became Emperor. In 27 June 1425, when she was 1 year old, her father became Emperor Xuanzong and her mother became Noble Consort Sun. In March 1, 1428, when she was 4 years old her mother became the Empress Sun. January 3, 1435, when she was 11 years old her father died and later that month her younger brother became the Emperor Yingzong. Marriage life. In 1436 (the 5th year of the Zhengtong reign), when she was 12 years of age, Empress Dowager Sun arranged for her to marry Xue Huan the son of Xue Lu, Marquis of Yangwu, and a woman of the Wang clan, after which she was granted the title Grand Princess Changde and Xue Huan was granted the title of was appointed to the position of Imperial Son-in-law Commandant and the marriage didnt seem to be a happy one. In 23 February 1464, when she was 40 years old her brother Emperor Yingzong died and the same year her nephew Zhu Jianshen became the Chenghua Emperor. Death. In 1470 (the 6th year of the Chenghua reign), she passed away at the age of 46. The imperial court suspended sessions for a day and granted funeral rites as per tradition.
