The Battle of Apamea or sack of Apamea was a military engagement in 573 during the Byzantine–Sasanian War of 572–591 When Khosrow I was besieging 
Dara he sent Adarmahan at the head of an army with 6,000 soldiersto invade the Roman province of Syria. He burned around the city of Antioch and he defeated the Byzantines at the city of Apamea. After he defeated the Byzantines, he sacked Apamea and finally destroyed the city.
