Lu Renjie is an independent artist who began his career in advertising and magazine illustration, and taught at Shanghai Electronic Information Vocational and Technical College for five years. His profile rose when Jackie Chan commissioned projects like the "Twelve Golden Hairpins" series.
In middle school, Lu encountered the "Classic of Mountains and Seas", an experience that sparked recurring dream images. In 2017, he revisited his childhood manuscripts to launch a systematic project aimed at developing a comprehensive "Classic of Mountains and Seas" system, which has since influenced his artistic direction.
