Sherif Lawal (1995 – 12 May 2024) was a Nigerian-British middleweight boxer. He died following his professional debut at Harrow Leisure Centre in London on 12 May 2024.
Lawal faced Portuguese opponent Malam Varela in a scheduled six-round middleweight contest. During the fourth round, Lawal was knocked down, and the fight was stopped by referee Lee Every. Emergency services attended to Lawal at the scene, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, he was later pronounced dead at the age of 29.
