GPTeens (short for GPT for Teens) is an AI-based chatbot developed by the South Korean company ACROSSPACE. It is built on the Generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) model and incorporates a pipeline structure with additional models to enhance its functionality. The chatbot is expanded using supervised fine-tuning to provide educational materials required by school curricula.
History.
The development of GPTeens began in response to the growing demand for AI-based educational tools in South Korea. In May 2023, a prototype version of the chatbot was introduced to schools for limited testing by teachers and students. The first public version of GPTeens was officially launched in October 2024, featuring educational materials aligned with the South Korean national curriculum.
