The European Defence Industry Programme is a creation of the European Union. It is originally a 1.5 billion euro subsidy to the European Defense industry. The Europarl committee wanted to increase the budget to 21 billion euro. It passed through European Council under qualified majority. It is part of the ReArm Europe strategy. As of early April 2025, it was still under negotiation. It defines joint procurement for the defense industry. It was a problem in December 2024.
