Dzungar campaign against remaining cities of Kazakh Khanate — in 1681 and 1683, Galdan Boshoktu unsuccessfully besieged Sairam. But it wasn't until 1684 that Sairam was able to take it. In 1686, the Dzungars launched another campaign against the remaining cities of the Kazakh Khanate, but it ended in failure. Russian envoys who had visited Khan Tauke reported that "the Kalmyk Khan Bushukhtu, along with his people, came with war to the cities of Khan Tevke but retreated without achieving success." Historian A. I. Isin suggests that this campaign may have taken place in late 1685 – early 1686.
