Faridah Luyiga Mwanje is a Ugandan journalist and reproductive health activist. She is the regional communications advisor at White Ribbon Alliance in Kampala. She is the lead advocate for International Confederation of Midwives (ICM).
Education.
Faridah holds a Bachelor's degree of mass communication and a Masters of Business Administration from Makerere University. Faridah was a fellow with the MakSPH-CDC HIV/AIDS Fellowship Program at Makerere School of Public Health.
Career.
Faridah worked as a freelance media consultant managing media and public relations. She worked as a journalist with "Rainbow" magazine, "Full Woman" magazine, and "Daily Monitor" where she worked as a reporter and health editor.
In 2021, Faridah joined International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) as an advocacy leader where she advocated for sexual, reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health (SRMNCAH) where supported countries from Africa and Asia.
Faridah is a member of the Coalition Steering Committee of the Self-care Trailblazers Group. She worked with the Self care Expert Group on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Uganda.
Faridah works as the regional communication advisor at White Ribbon Alliance (WRA) which she joined in March 2014 as WRA Uganda's communication officer.
Personal life.
Faridah is a wife and mother of four children.
