The funeral of Pope Francis on 26 April 2025 was attended by representatives from 142 out of 193 UN member states, along with the Republic of China, Kosovo, Palestine and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, including 61 heads of state and 31 heads of government. Following Francis's death five days prior, many foreign leaders confirmed their forthcoming attendance at his Requiem Mass, some as early as on the day of his death.
