Habish Rahman, professionally known as Baby Jean is an Indian rapper, singer and songwriter pioneering in the Malayalam Rap genre. He is best known for the songs Kaayi and Ballatha Jaathi.
He made his acting debut in 2025 with Alappuzha Gymkhana.
Early Life and Background.
Baby Jean was born in kolikkara, a village in Alamkode Grama Panchayat, Malappuram, Kerala. He studied in a local government school and was raised in a average family. After high school, he enrolled in a B.Com degree but failed, which led him to pursue a fashion design course in Kochi.
He supported himself by working as a salesman in Kochi boutiques, juggling jobs while chasing his musical dream. These experiences would later define his identity—fusing fashion, hustle, and art into a unique voice from the streets.
Career.
He began releasing music independently, catching fire with a style that was poetic yet gritty, deeply local yet internationally minded. He quickly gained a loyal following for his ability to make Malayalam sound global, while staying true to the culture.
In 2023 he signed with Mass Appeal India, The label, co-founded by Nas.
