Gulou District No.1 Center Primary School (), situated at 42 Shanghai Road, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, is an experimental elementary institution in Jiangsu Province.
History.
The institution was established in 1933 as Wutaishan Elementary School (). In 1937, the school served as one of the 25 refugee shelters within the Nanjing Safety Zone, being the first to accept migrants three hours after the Chinese government issued a circular, with the capacity to accommodate up to 1,640 refugee families. Subsequent to the establishment of the People's Republic of China, the institution was rebranded as Gulou District No. 1 Central Primary School. In 1960s, the children's film "The Secret of the Magic Gourd", shot in Gulou District No. 1 Central Primary School, garnered national fame for the elementary institution.
